Overview
During the onboarding process in Appical, there may be situations where a Manager or Buddy needs to transfer responsibility for a new hire to someone who is not yet assigned a Manager or Buddy role. Without proper handling, this can lead to issues such as miscommunication, lost updates, or incorrect reporting.
Example
Imagine a scenario where a current Buddy or Manager is temporarily unavailable or going on leave, and the new hire needs to be reassigned to another person who does not yet have a Manager or Buddy role in Appical. If this transfer is not communicated properly—perhaps HR or other departments are unaware of the change—it could disrupt the onboarding process and cause delays.
Below are a few steps you can take to make the Manager Forwarding process even smoother, such as:
Setting up email notifications for non-manager forwarding
Assigning manager presets to newly forwarded managers

Setting Up Email Notifications for Non-Manager Forwarding
If you want to receive email notifications when a new hire is forwarded to someone who doesn't yet have an Appical Manager account, please contact us at [email protected] or reach out via the Support Channel on the bottom right of your screen.

Provide us with the email address where you’d like to receive these alerts, and we’ll enable notifications for every new invitation sent through the Manager Forwarding feature.

Assigning Manager Presets for Forwarded New Hires
If your organisation uses Manager Presets, you can pre-assign a preset to new managers invited through Manager Forwarding.
Note: This preset applies only to new managers invited via forwarding; existing manager presets will not change.
To configure this, navigate to Manager Settings and select the preset under Assigned preset when forwarding to a new manager.
The forwarded manager will need to accept the new hire in the Manager Toolkit to begin following them.
