Overview
The Scheduled Push Notifications allow you to schedule push notifications based on their first day and can motivate and excite them about their first day that is starting or docs they should read during their first week.
With this feature, you can set the trigger, sending date related to their first day, and customize the content of push notifications through the Course Settings. Notifications can be sent to all users or targeted to specific groups, tags, roles, or a combination.
Example
If an event occurs during the new hiresโ first week, you can send a notification like the one below. This creates excitement and ensures new users are informed in advance.
"Hooray! There are only 3 days left until your first day! We canโt wait to see you! โญ๏ธ"
๐ Important Note:
Scheduled messages cannot be edited after sending.
To make changes, delete the notification and create a new one.
Always ensure the push notification content is clear and relevant.
For multi-language courses, double-check that all languages are covered.
Combine filters wisely to reach the intended audience without overlap.
Steps to set up Scheduled Push Notifications
โ Navigate to Courses Settings
Open the Courses section in the left menu.
Click on the menu icon in the top right corner of the desired course.
Select 'Settings'.
โ Add a Push Notification
Scroll down to find Push Notifications.
Click on the 'Add Push Notification' button. A new window will pop up.
โ Select Trigger Event: Scheduled
Click the down arrow next to Select a trigger.
Choose Scheduled.
โ Choose day & time
Set No. of days before/after user first day:
0
= first dayPositive numbers (e.g., 3) = after first day
Negative numbers (e.g.,
-
4) = before first day
2. Choose the time to send the notification.
โ Customize Your Message
Enter the push notification content in the provided text box.
Ensure messages are available for all selected languages.
โ Choose Language
Select the language(s) for the message.
Available languages are based on the course settings.
Ensure you add the message for all languages so every user sees it in their preferred language.
โ Select Target Group (Optional)
Click "Filter Users" to target by group, role, tag.
Only one filter (group, role or tag) must be applied when targeting specific users. Multiple options are possible in the chosen filter.
Notifications can also be sent to all users if no filter is selected.
Save and Activate
Click Save to put the push notification live.
You can add multiple notifications as needed.
