Overview

This article explains how to add an Organisational Story to a course in AppicalNow. Organizational Stories are shown to every user enrolled in the course, making them a great tool for sharing universal information such as company-wide updates, policies, or onboarding content.

Example

Use an Organisational Story to introduce all employees to your company's mission and values, ensuring consistent messaging regardless of the user's specific role or team.

📌 Important: Organisational Stories are displayed to all users in a course. If you want targeted content based on roles or other attributes, use Contextual Stories instead.

Steps to Add an Organisational Story

→ Log In and Access the Courses Menu

Log in as an Admin or Editor and click on Courses from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

→ Open the Course Editor

Navigate to the course where you want to add the story. Click ‘Editor’ in the bottom-left corner of the course card.

→ Choose to Add an Organisational Story

In the Editor window, select ‘Organisational’ to begin creating a story that will be shown to all users.

→ Name and Upload an Image for the Story

  • Name the Story: Enter a clear and descriptive name for the story.

  • Upload an Image: Add an image for the story with optimal dimensions of 230 pixels (width) by 190 pixels (height). Ensure the file size does not exceed 1MB.

→ Set Runtime Unlocking for the Story

Define when the story will unlock during the runtime of the course:

  • Day 0: The story is available from the user's start date (e.g., January 1).

  • Day 7: The story will unlock on the 8th day after the user's start date (e.g., January 8).

Adjust this setting based on your onboarding schedule to release the story at the right moment.

→ Save and Finalise

Once you've completed all configurations, save your changes. Your new Organisational Story is now live and available to users based on the unlock schedule you set.
