๐Ÿ“Œ We recommend to use Google Chrome to ensure an optimal experience when using AppicalNow.

Overview

This article explains how to duplicate or copy a story in AppicalNow. This feature is particularly helpful if you want to create a new story based on an existing one. By duplicating a story, you can save time and effort, as the copied story retains all its chapters and pages, which you can edit as needed.

Example: Imagine youโ€™ve created a story that outlines onboarding content for new employees. If you want to create a similar story for a different department, you can duplicate the existing story and customise it instead of starting from scratch.

๐Ÿ“Œ Important: Large stories may take longer to duplicate. Refresh the page to check if the duplication process is complete.

Steps on how to duplicate the story

โ†’ Navigate to Courses and Editor

  1. Go to the left menu and select 'Courses'.

  2. Find the Course where the story is.

  3. Click on the 'Editor' button located at the bottom-left of the course tile.

โ†’ Select the Story to Duplicate

  1. In the course editor, locate the story you want to duplicate.

  2. Click on the menu icon in the top-right corner of the story card.

  3. Select Duplicate from the dropdown menu.

โ†’ Choose the Destination Course

  1. Click on the arrow icon in the duplication dialog box.

  2. From the dropdown menu, select the course where you want to duplicate the story.

Note: You can choose whether to add the story to the same course or a different course, depending on your needs.

โ†’ Wait for the Duplication to Complete

The duplication process will begin. Depending on the size of the story, this may take some time. During the process, the duplicated story will appear faded with the text 'Processing'.

โ†’ Refresh the Page

After a while, refresh the page. Once the duplication is complete, the faded effect will disappear, and the 'Processing' text will be replaced with the 'storyโ€™s title'. The duplicated story is now ready for use.
