Overview

This article explains how to add a Likert Scale page to your course in AppicalNow. The Likert Scale is a reliable method for measuring users’ attitudes or opinions by allowing them to rate their level of agreement on a 1-to-5 scale. This tool is especially useful for collecting structured feedback and insights.

Example

You could use a Likert Scale page to gauge employee satisfaction with the onboarding process, with statements like “The onboarding materials are clear and easy to understand.” Users can rate their agreement from 1 (Totally Disagree) to 5 (Totally Agree).

Steps to Add a Likert Scale Page

→ Open the Course Editor

Click on ‘Courses’ from the menu on the left. Navigate to the desired course and click ‘Editor’ in the bottom left corner.

→ Select the Chapter

In the Editor, select the story and the chapter where you want to add the new Likert Scale page.

→ Add the Likert Scale Page

In the menu on the left, choose ‘Likert Scale’, then click on the ‘Add page’ button in the bottom right corner.

→ Configure Basic Page Details

  • Select Language: Choose the language for the page.

  • Name the Page: Give the page a clear, descriptive name. (Example: "Feedback on Onboarding Materials").

  • Set Page Status: Choose between Live or Draft based on whether the page is ready to be published.

→ Write the Question or Task

In the first text field, write the instructions or question for users. For example:

“We’re curious about your thoughts on this tutorial. Let us know what you think by rating the items on a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 = strongly disagree and 5 = strongly agree.”

→ Add Answers

Click ‘Add Answer’ and type your question or statement in the provided text field. Add as many items as needed for users to evaluate.

→ Add Explanation Text

In the ‘Explanation’ field, provide a message that users will see after submitting their answers. For example:

“Thank you for sharing your feedback. It helps us improve the experience for future users.”

→ Add Info Text

In the ‘Info Button’ section, write a brief explanation to provide additional context about the question or topic if users click on the info button.

→ Configure Page Options

In the Page Options section, you can configure answer settings and advanced settings:

Answer Settings

  • Enable or disable ‘Provide Feedback’ to determine whether users receive immediate feedback after responding.

  • Enable 'Mandatory answer' to make it mandatory.

Advanced Page Options: Convert this page into another type while keeping core elements like Title, Description, and Explanation intact.
