Overview

A Social Story page allows you to embed a Twitter Timeline or Instagram page directly into your course. This is a great way to showcase real-time updates, highlight user-generated content, or display key social media interactions.

With this feature, you can:

Add text instructions or context on the left side of the page.
Display a social media feed (e.g., Twitter profile, list, or search term) on the right side.

Example
For instance, you can use this feature to display your company’s Twitter Timeline to keep users informed about the latest news, updates, or events, all while engaging with your course content.

Steps to Add a Social Story Page

→ Navigate to the Courses Editor

Click on ‘Courses’ in the menu on the left to open the course list.
Select the course where you’d like to add a Social Story page.
Click the ‘Editor’ button in the bottom-left corner of the course tile.

→ Choose the Story and Chapter

Locate the story where you want to add the page, then select the chapter from the menu on the left.

→ Add a New Page

Click the ‘Add Page’ button, select ‘Social Story’ from the menu, and then click ‘Add Page’ in the bottom-right corner.

→ Configure the Page Settings

Set a Language and Page Name:
Choose the desired language and enter a name for your new Social Story page. (Tip: Ensure the name is descriptive and reflects the content.)
Set Page Status:
Pages are set to ‘Live’ by default. If you’re still working on the page, switch to ‘Draft’ mode.
Add Instructions:
Write clear instructions in the text field below the title. Example: “Take a look at our Twitter Timeline to see what’s happening!”

→ Embed a Twitter Timeline

Open a new browser tab and visit publish.twitter.com.
Enter the URL of the Twitter content you’d like to embed. Options include a profile, specific tweet, likes, or search results.
Click the arrow or press Enter to see the available options.

Select your desired embed type, and Twitter will generate an embed code.

Click 'Copy Code' and paste it into the 'Embed Code' field in the Social Story page settings in AppicalNow.

→ Finalise and Save

Review the settings and click 'Save'. Your Social Story page is now ready, complete with a live Twitter Timeline embedded directly into your course!
