In this tutorial, you will learn how to add a Text with Image page to your course.

A Text with Image page is ideal when you want to support your text with an image. The text will be displayed on the left side of the page, while the image will appear on the right side. This layout helps visually engage your audience while providing essential information.

📌 Important:
Supported Image Formats: .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG and .GIF

Optimal image ratio: 4:3 or 1:1

See the article on Aspect Ratios.

Steps to add a text with image page

→ Navigate to Course Editor

  1. Click on ‘Courses’ in the menu on the left.

  2. Navigate to the course where you want to add a new page.

  3. Then, click the ‘Editor’ button located in the bottom left corner of the desired course.

→ Choose the Story and Chapter

  1. Select the story where you want to add the new page.

  2. From the left menu, choose the chapter where the new page will be added.

→ Add New Page

Click on the ‘Add page’ button.

→ Choose Page Type

In the left menu, select ‘Text with Image’ and then click on the ‘Add page’ button in the bottom right corner.

→ Select Language

Choose the desired language for the page.

→ Name Your Page

Give your new page a title. For tips on naming your page, click here for a guide.

By default, pages are set to ‘live’, but you can set the page to ‘draft’ if you’re not ready to publish it. Draft pages are helpful if you’re working on the page while new hires are already using AppicalNow. To switch to draft mode, click on ‘Live’ and select ‘Draft’.

→ Add Text

Write the content you want to display in the text field below the title. In the image above, this is marked with the text ‘Type your text here’.

→ Upload Image

To upload an image that will be visible to users accessing AppicalNow on a desktop or tablet, click on ‘Choose Image’ under ‘Choose desktop/tablet image’. Then, navigate to the image on your device, select it, and click ‘Open’.

  • Optimal ratio: 4:3 or 1:1

  • Desktop: If you upload an image wider than 344 pixels, users will need to click the image to view it in full size. Using a smaller image will cause the text to wrap around the image.

  • Mobile: The image will automatically fit the screen size, and users can click the image to zoom in.

→ Crop the Image (if necessary)

After uploading an image, a ‘crop image’ button will appear below the image. This button only appears when uploading a new image. To crop the image, click on ‘Crop Image’.

  1. Use the slider to adjust the selection size—move it to the right to make the selection smaller and to the left to make it larger.

  2. Once satisfied with the crop, click on ‘Crop’ to save your selection.

  3. To finalise, click on 'Save'.

→ Add Info Button Text

If you want to provide additional information, use the ‘Info Button’ field. When users click on the info button on this page, they will see the text that you write in the ‘Info Button’ section.

→ Configure Page Options

In the ‘Page Options’ section, you can configure answer settings and advanced settings. If you enable the checkbox for ‘Draft Image’, this will show a draft version of the image to users.

→ Advanced Page Options

In the ‘Advanced Page Options’, you can convert your page into another page type. The fields used in the original page (e.g., Title, Explanation, Correct/Incorrect Feedback, and Info Button) will be kept in the converted page, but you’ll need to fill in the answer options again.
