In this tutorial you will learn how to add a Video page.

A Video page offers the ability to display a video to the users. It's important that the video file is not too large. We recommend to use a video that is not larger than 90MB. Larger video’s will extend the loading time of the pages. This is not optimal for the user and can result in frustration.

*We recommend to use Google Chrome to ensure an optimal experience when using AppicalNow.

Step 1. Click on ‘Courses’ in the menu on the left.

Step 2. Navigate to the course where you would like to add a new page. Click on the button that says ‘Editor’ the bottom left corner of the desired course.

Step 3. Next, select the story where you want to add a new page.

Step 4. Select the chapter in the menu on the left.

Step 5. Click on the button that says ‘Add page’.

Step 6. Choose ‘Video' in the menu on the left and click on the button that says ‘Add page’ in the bottom right corner.

Step 7. Select the desired language.

Step 8. Give your new Video page a title.

Step 9. Pages are set to ‘live’ by default but can be set to draft. Draft pages can be very helpful when you’re working on a page while new hires are already using AppicalNow. Click on 'Live' and select 'Draft' to change te setting.

Step 10. To upload a video, click on 'Choose Video' and navigate to the file on your device. Select the video and click on 'open'.. This video can have the following extensions: .AVI, .MOV, .MP4, ... We don’t recommend to use video’s that are larger than 90MB in size as these video’s will make the page load slowly.

Step 11. You can add a subtitle file to your video as well, this has to be a .VTT file.
This free online tool can help you create .VTT files to go with your video: https://www.vtt-creator.com/

Step 12. To change the thumbnail (preview image that is shown before a user presses the play button) click on 'Edit'

A window will pop up with a preview of your video on the left side and 4 rectangles on the right side. To select a thumbnail, pause the video on the image that you want to use as a thumbnail and click on snapshot. You can take 4 snapshots. Click on the snapshot that you want to use as a thumbnail and close by clicking the 'x' in the top right corner.

You can also upload a thumbnail manually. Click on the toggle that says 'Upload thumbnail' and click on 'Choose File'. Navigate to the file on your device. Select the image and click on 'open'.

Step 13. If a user clicks on the info button at this page they will see the text that you write in the text field underneath 'Info Button'. Use this to give the users more information on the question or the subject.

Step 14. At Page Options you are able to configure answer settings and advanced settings. If you select the checkbox at Auto play, the video will start playing as soon as the page has loaded.

Congratulations! You now know how to add a Video page!
