Overview

This article explains the difference between Forwarding and Assigning a Manager or Buddy in the Manager Toolkit. With both options, you can now select a preset, providing greater control over the setup of accounts when assigning or forwarding new hires.


Differentiating Forward and Assign

Assign

This action is used to designate a Buddy or Manager to a new hire, adding them as the point of contact for onboarding.

Example: Manager A assigns a Buddy to a new hire by selecting the “Buddy” preset under Assign. This sets up the Buddy as the designated support for the new hire.

Forward

This option is used to transfer the responsibility of managing a new hire from one Manager to another, often due to a role change or transition, such as a manager leaving.

Example: If Manager A is leaving the organisation, they can forward the new hire to Manager B by selecting the “Manager” preset under Forward. This smoothly transitions responsibility to Manager B while retaining the appropriate presets.
