Overview

The Manager Toolkit equips managers with advanced tools to oversee and support their teams efficiently. This article explains how to utilise its enhanced features—Filters, Following, Push Notifications, and Essay Answers—to manage new hires effectively. These capabilities enable managers to gain insights, track progress, and stay updated on their team's onboarding journey.

Example

Imagine you’re managing a group of new hires starting in the next week. Using the Start Date Filter, you can quickly identify who’s beginning soon, enabling you to prepare welcome emails or schedule orientation sessions. With the push notification feature, you’ll also receive alerts when someone completes their onboarding course, ensuring you can acknowledge and celebrate milestones promptly.

What You’ll Learn in This Article:

  1. Filters: How to filter users by start date, performance, or course status for better oversight.

  2. Following: Learn how to follow specific users for regular updates on their progress.

  3. Push Notifications: Set up alerts for course completions and checklist deadlines.

  4. Essay/Photo Essay Answers: Access user-submitted answers directly in the app for a seamless review process.

→ Filters: Streamline Your View

Filters in the Manager Toolkit allow managers to refine their focus on specific groups of users based on defined criteria. Here’s how the filters work:

Start Date

Quickly identify which new hires are starting soon.

Example: Select 'Coming 7 days' to view all new hires joining within the next week.

Performance

Monitor user performance, which depends on:

  • Days since last login: More days lead to a lower performance score.

  • Course completion: Completing a course boosts performance scores.

Filter Options:

  • Need Attention: Displays users with low performance scores.

  • Excellent: Highlights users with high performance scores.

  • Inactive: Lists users with very poor performance scores.

Course Status

Track users' progress through their assigned courses.

  • None Started: Users who haven’t begun any course.

  • In Progress: Users who started but haven’t completed a course.

  • Finished: Users who have successfully completed a course.

→ Following: Stay Focused on Key Users

Managers can now choose specific users to follow, gaining tailored updates about their progress and performance. With the Advanced Manager Toolkit:

  • Managers can search and select new hires they want to follow.

  • Unlike the Basic Toolkit, managers no longer need an Admin or Editor to assign users to them.

→ Push Notifications: Stay Updated

The toolkit introduces two push notifications to keep managers informed:

  1. Course Completion: Alerts when an assigned user finishes a course.

  2. Checklist Due Soon: Notifications for checklist items nearing their due date.

→ Essay Answers: Immediate Insights

Managers can now view Essay and Photo Essay answers directly in the app:

  • Previously, these answers were only accessible via the Reporting Section in the Editor or Daily Essay Completion Emails.

  • This feature allows for real-time feedback and assessment of user responses.
