In this tutorial we will guide you how to make use of AppicalAI, our ChatGPT functionality. AppicalAI can be used to generate and/or adjust content much faster with the click of a button.

Step 1. Click on the ChatGPT button above the Support button when you are editing a page.

Step 2. Generate content by clicking on one of our predefined examples or write a prompt yourself in the text box below. (Read about what a prompt is in the tips section of this article.)

Step 3. Click on the “Generate Text” button and wait for the output. This might take a few moments, depending on the load on ChatGPT itself.

Step 4/A: I like the generated content/only a few adjustments are required

In case you are satisfied with the generated text, copy it. By clicking the “Copy text” button you can automatically store the result to your clipboard and paste it wherever you want.

Step 4/B: I am not happy with the generated content

In case the generated content is very different from your expectations you can clear the text by clicking on the “Clear text” button and regenerate it after adjusting your prompt.

Step 5: Paste your copied text into the page editor. It is important to note that you are not able to edit the generated text in the field above. In case a few small adjustments are required, it can be done after pasting the text to the editor.

Step 6: Enjoy being able to create content much faster with the help of AppicalAI :-)

Tips from us on generating better content*

First things first, what is a prompt?

A prompt is a short text used as a starting point for creating text. The text can be anything from a question to a statement to a request for information. Within Appical you can use our AI assistant to generate content for your onboarding courses.

Here are some tips to getting started with content generation:

  1. Start with an action word: Starting prompts with words like create, write, make and generate can lead to clearer and more accurate results.

  2. Be clear and specific: State your question or instruction as clearly as possible. Provide all the necessary details and context to ensure that ChatGPT understands what you're asking.

  3. Keep it concise: While it's important to be clear, try to keep your prompts concise. Long, convoluted prompts may confuse ChatGPT or lead to irrelevant responses.

  4. Use clear language: Avoid ambiguity or vague terms in your prompts. Instead, use clear and detailed language to convey your intent. For example, instead of saying, "Tell me about it," specify what you want to know, such as "Explain the process of onboarding.”

  5. Use examples or scenarios: Providing examples or hypothetical scenarios can help clarify your prompt and give ChatGPT a better understanding of the context.

  6. Specify the desired format or length: If you have a preference for the response format or length, include it in your prompt. For example, you can specify a character count, word count or paragraph count. You can also be specific and ask for a “A title…” ,“A short paragraph…” etc. With content length it’s important to keep your audience in mind and aim to keep content shorter where possible in order to increase engagement.

  7. Use appropriate language: Adapt your language to suit the context and the desired tone. For formal inquiries or professional discussions, use more formal language. If you want a casual or conversational tone, use language that is relaxed and informal.

  8. Consider the persona: ChatGPT can be instructed to adopt different personas or roles. Specify the desired persona in your prompt to set the appropriate tone. For example, you can instruct ChatGPT to respond as a poet, a historical figure, or a character from a book.

Remember, ChatGPT is a powerful tool, but it still requires clear instructions to provide accurate and relevant responses. By following these tips, you can enhance the quality of your prompts and have more productive interactions.

Known Limitations

Please note, ChatGPT has a large database but has limited knowledge of world events beyond 2021. If you are generating content specifically about your organisation, bear in mind that the most up to date information may not be available.
