Overview

Reminding users to complete their courses can help them stay on track, especially during key onboarding moments.

In Appical, you can schedule up to three automated reminder emails that are sent when users fall behind on a course. The reminders are customised based on course runtime (the number of days allocated to complete a course) and the user’s progress percentage.

Steps to set up Reminders

→ Access Course Settings

Navigate to Courses in the left menu.

Find the course you want to set reminders for.

Click the 'menu' icon (three lines) at the top right corner of the course, then select 'Settings'.

→ Set Course Runtime

Scroll to 'Runtime' section.

Toggle on the 'Course Completion Reminder' setting to activate automated email reminders.

Set the ideal number of days for a user to complete the course. This defines the timeframe in which reminders will be sent.

→ Configure Reminder Timings

Choose Reminder Triggers

For each reminder, specify:

  • Day in Runtime: The day within the course runtime when the reminder should be sent.

  • Progress Percentage: The minimum completion percentage required by this point; if users haven’t reached it, the reminder email will be sent.

Example: set the first reminder for users with less than 10% progress after 7 days.

How does new hires receive the reminder?

If a user hasn’t reached the progress threshold by the set day, they’ll receive an automated email prompting them to return to the course.
