Overview
Adding a new chapter to a story allows you to break down and organise content in your courses more effectively. This guide will walk you through the steps to create and add a new chapter within a course, giving you full control over your course structure.
Example
If you're creating an onboarding course for new hires at a your company, you might structure the content with different stories, such as “Welcome to [Company Name]” and “Getting Started with Your Role”. Within the “Welcome to [Company Name]” story, you could have chapters like “Introduction to Our Mission”, “Our Core Values”, and “Company Culture”.
Steps to Add a New Chapter
→ Select the Course
Navigate to the course where you want to add a new chapter and click on ‘Editor’ located at the bottom-left side. A new window will appear with the course editor.
→ Open the Story
In the course editor, navigate to the story where you want to add a new chapter and click on ‘edit’.
Click on the ‘+’ icon next to the chapter name in the left panel.
Add Chapter Information
→ Give your chapter a name
Choose a clear and relevant name for your new chapter.
→ Create a quiz chapter
If you want this chapter to be a quiz, click the box next to ‘quiz chapter’ to enable the quiz functionality..

→ Upload an image
Add an image to visually represent the chapter. The recommended dimensions for this image are 230px width by 190px height, and the file size should not exceed 1MB.
→ Choose Tags (if applicable)
If relevant, select tags for the chapter. Tags help categorize content and can be useful for filtering and organizing chapters. Select the appropriate tags to add them to the chapter.
→ Add a Runtime to the Chapter
Specify when the chapter should be unlocked by adding a runtime. This step allows you to control when the chapter becomes available to users by setting a start time or time window for the chapter to be accessible.
Note:
'0' is the start date
'-1' the day before
'1' the day after
→ Set the Chapter to Live or Draft
Choose whether you want the chapter to be 'live' instantly or if you prefer to set it to 'draft' first. This option allows you to make any final edits before it becomes available.
