Overview

It is not always possible to explain everything in a single page or chapter in a fun and engaging way. Another effective way to keep new hires informed is by adding files to the knowledge section. Whether it’s training manuals, company policies, or helpful guides, having these resources readily available fosters a better understanding of the organisation and accelerates the integration process.

At AppicalNow, there are currently two possibilities to add file(s) to the platform:

Add file(s) to a group

This guide provides instructions on how to add file(s) directly to a group, making it easier to share resources with multiple users simultaneously. You can upload various file types, including images and documents, ensuring all relevant materials are accessible to new hires.

Steps to add file(s) to a group

Below you can find the step-by-step guide to add a file to a group of users:

→ Access user management & manage groups

Navigate to User Management in the menu.

Click on Manage Groups to see the list of available groups.

→ Edit group

Locate the group where you want to add a file and click on Edit in the top right corner.

→ Upload files

Click on Files in the menu at the top.

Click on Add File and select the file you want to upload. If the file is found, select it and click Open to complete the upload.

Note: You can upload files of the following types: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .pdf. However, it is advisable not to upload files that are excessively large.

→ Organise files with categories

To keep your files organised, you can categorise them. First, click on Categories in the menu at the top.

  • Create a new category

Click on the text field that says Add a category, type the name of your category, and click Add to create it. Don’t forget to click Update to save your changes.

  • Select a category for the file

Return to the Files section and click on Select category. A dropdown menu will appear with the categories you just created.

→ Finalise your changes

After selecting the appropriate category, click Update to save your changes!


Where can users find the file(s)?

The user can find the document(s) in the Knowledge section of the Appical platform under 'Files':
