How to add External User Managers

Allow user managers access only to users in the same group, limiting data visibility by group for reporting and user management.

Overview

If your company operates across multiple offices, each with its own team, you might need to give certain managers access only to the data of employees within their specific location. This helps prevent access to unrelated or sensitive information from other groups. Allow user managers access only to users in the same group, limiting data visibility by group for reporting and user management.

The External User Manager feature is off by default.
Contact Appical support at [email protected] or via chat to enable this feature for your organisation.


Steps on how to add external user managers

Invite User Manager

After enabling the External User Manager feature, invite a User Manager using:

During the invitation process, select the 'User Manager' option from the type of user account.

Add in the following pages the 'Course' and relevant 'Group(s)' for each User Manager.


Adding Groups to Existing User Managers

Navigate to User Management

Go to the menu on the left and select 'User Management'

Find the User Manager

Use the search bar to locate the User Manager's profile and click on their name.

Assign Groups

In the profile, under 'User Attributes', locate the Groups dropdown menu.

Choose the group(s) relevant to the User Manager's oversight area.

Save Changes

Click on 'Save changes' to finalise the group assignment.
