By adding a direct link it's possible for users to quickly navigate to certain content within Appical. You can link to a FAQ, Glossary Item or a user in the People Finder from within a page, as well as the other way around.

Note: It's not possible to link from one page to another page, only from a page to a knowledge item and from a knowledge item to a page.

Update: with an exception for Checklist item to Page

For a link to a Page from a Checklist item, choose https:// link (see icon below) and use the URL from the WebPlayer Page.

Step 1. Navigate to the place where you want to add a link. Links can be added in all textfields. For example, in text on a page, in the title of a page or in a Glossary item.

In the the textfield use one of codes below:

For a link to a People Finder item: pfl(ID):TEXT:pfl
For a popup of a Glossary item: g:word:g
For a link to a Glossary item: gl(ID):TEXT:gl
For a link to a FAQ item: fl(ID):TEXT:fl

For a link to a Page: pl(ID):TEXT:pl

For a link to a Page from a Checklist item: Link with https:// URL [See Update ↑]

To find the ID you have to navigate to the item that you want to link in the player. Notice: In the TEXT part there can't be any special characters.

For the People Finder, Glossary and the FAQ items link will show up in the url of the page in the Player.

The ID is the last number in the URL, highlighted in the image above.

To find the link of a Page you have to navigate to the page in the Editor (where you can edit the page). The ID is the number in the URL, highlighted in the image below.

Step 2. Add the direct link where you want it displayed.

Congratulations, you now know how to add Direct Links.
