Overview
This article explains how to request an integration and what information Appical needs to get started.
For admins
To request an integration, please consult with your Implementation Consultant or CSM. They will guide you through the process and confirm whether your integration is standard or custom (see Standard vs Custom Integrations).
Information needed to create an account:
First name
Last name
Personal email address
Start date
Unique identifier (employee ID)
Additional information, depending on your setup:
If you plan to use tags or groups, Appical will need a field and value defined so the correct tag or group can be assigned.
If you plan to use Manager Toolkit, the data will also need to include the new hire's manager information: first name, last name, email address, and unique identifier (employee ID).
Other fields can also be used if needed, for example switching from a personal email address to a business email address once someone starts.
The sooner this information is confirmed, the sooner your integration timeline can begin (see The Integration Process, Step by Step).
For IT and technical teams
The minimum required fields to create a user account in Appical are:
Field | Required for |
First name | All integrations |
Last name | All integrations |
Personal email address | All integrations |
Start date | All integrations |
Unique identifier (employee ID) | All integrations |
Tag/group field and value | Only if tags or groups are in use |
Manager first name, last name, email, unique identifier | Only if Manager Toolkit is in use |
Any additional field available in your system can be mapped and used if there's a business need for it (for example, converting a personal email to a business email on the employee's first day). These requirements, along with any conditional logic (such as tag or group assignment rules), are documented and agreed upon in the mapping document — see The Mapping Document Explained.
