Overview
A welcome message is a personalised way to greet new hires when they log into your onboarding course for the first time. It helps set a positive tone and provides an opportunity to introduce your app and company. You can include a video, an image, or both, accompanied by a custom message.
Example
Imagine a new hire logging in to see a video of your CEO welcoming them to the team, followed by a friendly image of their office location and a short introductory message. This helps create an immediate connection and sets expectations for their journey in the app.
📌 Important:
Videos have a maximum size limit of 35MB. Consider compressing larger files using third-party tools.
Images should ideally have dimensions of 448 pixels (width) by 614 pixels (height) for best display.
Steps to add a Welcome Message to your course
→ Access the Course Settings
Navigate to Courses in the left-hand menu.
Select the course you want to edit.
Click the menu icon (three dots) in the top-right corner.
From the dropdown menu, click on 'Settings'.
→ Select Welcome Message type
Scroll to the Welcome Message section in the settings.
Click the arrow next to None and choose one of the following options:
Image: Display an image below the dashboard banner.
Video: Show a welcome video below the dashboard banner.
Both: Combine an image and a video for a more dynamic greeting.
→ Upload Media
To Add an Image:
Select Image from the dropdown menu.
Click on Choose Image, locate the image on your device, and click Open to upload.
Crop the image if needed using the slider to adjust the selection area, then click Crop.
To Add a Video:
Select Video from the dropdown menu.
Click on Choose Video, locate the video file on your device, and click Open to upload.
To have the video play automatically when the welcome message appears, enable the Auto Play checkbox.
You can also upload a subtitle file for the video.

Use the Welcome Message Text field to craft a short and engaging message for your new hires.
Note: The message will appear below the image or video.
The salutation is automatically personalised with "Welcome [First Name]" for every user.

Once you’ve uploaded your media and written the welcome message, click 'Save' to apply the changes.
