This article explains what happens after you connect a buddy or manager to a new hire: which emails are sent, and which preset a new connection or newly added user is assigned.
Connection Emails
→ Existing users
When you connect a manager or buddy, they will receive an email informing them that a new hire has been connected to them.
📌 Note:
When you add a connection, they will receive emails based on the preset template they are assigned, not the template of the person sending the connection.
For example: If you are using the Manager preset and the connection you are adding is using the Buddy preset, they will receive an email based on the Buddy template.
→ New users
When you add a new user, they will receive an email invitation to join the Manager Toolkit. Once they accept and set up their account, they will be able to access the new hire connected to them.

Assigned Preset for New Users
When you invite a new user, they will be assigned the preset defined in the sender's preset settings. This can be configured in the section "Assigned preset when collaborating with a new manager" within each preset.
Example:
If you are using the Manager preset and the preset assigned under "Assigned preset when collaborating with a new manager" is Buddy, the new user will receive the Buddy preset.
There, you can choose which preset new users should receive based on the sender's preset. See screenshot below:
📌 Important:
Customers who used the previous Manager Toolkit had two separate options:
Assigned preset when assigning to a new manager
Assigned preset when forwarding to a new manager
These options have now been combined into a single setting:
Assigned preset when collaborating with a new manager
When this feature became available, the setting was automatically updated to the default behaviour, meaning the new user receives the same preset as the sender.
⚠️ If you want new users to receive a different preset, you need to adjust this setting.
