What is an Aspect Ratio?

An aspect ratio describes the size of an image by comparing its width to its height, written as two numbers separated by a colon (like 16:9). For example, an image that is 16 cm wide and 9 cm high has an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Here are a few common aspect ratios along with their dimensions in centimeters (cm) and pixels (px):

4:3 Aspect Ratio Example:

  • CM Size: 20 cm wide x 15 cm high

  • Pixels Size: 800 px x 600 px

  • Used For: Often used for photos and presentations.

16:9 Aspect Ratio Example:

  • CM Size: 32 cm wide x 18 cm high

  • Pixels Size: 1280 px x 720 px

  • Used For: This is the standard ratio for videos and widescreen displays.

Important Note: If you use an image that doesn't match these ratios, it might get stretched or cut off, which can look unprofessional.
